I admire this woman for her honesty and willingness to embrace happiness as a more important goal than prestige.

Will AI rid us of huge jerks in the workplace? We can certainly hope.
But I'm not confident that eliminating scutwork in law will lead to a decrease in nastiness in the profession. The worst offenders usually make it to positions of power through overwork and a willingness to be ruthless with colleagues that stand in their way.

What do you think?

Brilliant jerks who nobody actually likes working with will have a tougher time after AI automates much of their work. The future belongs to those with people skills.

Law Is, unsurprisingly, showcased as not only a prime example of a cut-throat culture industry, but also as one in which the toxic culture is so baked In that the prospects for change are grim. That is, unless there's a huge crisis to propel change.
I'm looking at you, Millennials and Gen Z lawyers. Create the crisis!

Many employees thrive in high-pressure work environments. But ruthless cultures can poison the well, eroding wellbeing and ultimately driving out workers.

I'm not saying that many attorneys may have undiagnosed ADHD--though they may.

But most of my clients claim they can't meditate. If that's you, this article has some excellent suggestions to get you going.
