Our advertising by mailing list, news or trade paper, email, or website has produced a buying clientele as good as any in the area. We specialize in 18th, 19th, and early 20th century antiques and decorative arts, as well as quality household, tools, and appliances.

What We Can't Stop Talking About This Week

Every week, the Brooks crew rounds up the movies, shows, music, food, books, and assorted nonsense we can’t stop talking about. No rankings. No paid hype. Just stuff we think you might dig.

Madison: "The Dark Crystal" (1982, Peacock) It used to terrify me when I was younger, so it makes me feel like I'm reconnecting with that little kid and the people I watched it with.

Victor: "Fire and Ice" (1983) Some old school rotoscoping animation. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

Lauren: "Danger Diabolik" (1968) A campy heist flick with Scooby-Doo level hijinks.

Kyari: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 2" (2011) I'm deep in my Harry Potter era. Now that I've finished the movies, I'm going to listen to it all again as an audiobook.

Jaren: "My Skyscraper," Nirosta Steel (2026) The artist is 69 and has compiled like 40 years of songs, recordings, and unfinished ideas into an amazing (and strange) album.

Wyatt: Thymari Mediterranean Gastro-Taverna, Swedesboro, NJ. I thought it was pretty good then my in-laws, visiting from Greece, came and wholeheartedly gave it their stamp of approval.

Nathan: "I Will Find You" (2026, Netflix) Twisty as a motherf***er! Everybody's a suspect. Everybody's got a secret.

Albert: The Vampire Lestat" (2026, AMC) This is no surprise from me - I've been a fan of Anne Rice's updated universe from day one.

Martie: "Orbital" Samantha Harvey (2023) It reads more like a string of episodic short stories, but somehow not even that. It offers you a perspective of the world that we rarely have being tethered by gravity.

Carah: "Obsession" (2026) The one movie really everyone in the auction has been talking about (and spoiling) - Martie (thanks a lot, guys)

Kelly: "Lock Every Door" Riley Sager (2019) It's a page-turner, but it's also super interesting that the building is a character too.

Great news everyone! We know you've been missing the live sales so Brooks will be having an on-site sale in Cape May Courthouse on Saturday June 27th.
