On Friday, April 24 the Class of 2026 came together for their last content day of the year... Arts, Entertainment, & Education Day!

The day started with Quiera Harris and Rashida Kimbrue as they provided a "Leading with Creativity" seminar, followed by an overview of the arts in Frederick County from Louise Kennelly.

The class spent the morning at the Y Arts Center, hearing from local organizations including Soul Street and the County Office of Parks & Recreation, before heading to the Keys Stadium for lunch and a tour.

In the afternoon, the group visited Maryland Ensemble Theatre, took a walk on Carroll Creek to see and learn about public art installations, and took a tour of the Banyan. Finally, they took part in a drum circle hosted by Soul in Motion, Inc.

Special thanks to Kathy Seidor (Class of 2024) for putting together such an incredible experience for the class, and to Hood College for hosting us in the morning.

The Class of 2026 came together on Friday, March 27 for their Planning & Land Use Content Day.

The day kicked off with Dr. Mahesh Joshi (Class of 2025), who led a session on leading with strategic thinking. From there, participants explored key topics including economic housing, agricultural preservation, and historic preservation.

Throughout the day, the class gained insight into long-range planning and the infrastructure that supports our community, including roads, bridges, and highways. They also took a deeper dive into housing data, construction costs, and school development.

In the afternoon, the group walked to the Clarion to learn about mixed-use redevelopment before wrapping up the day with a hands-on “Blocksburg” activity focused on affordable housing.

A special thank you to Dani Adams (Class of 2022) for thoughtfully curating such a meaningful day, and to the Mount Frederick campus for hosting.
