One of Frederick County’s biggest fall traditions is almost here! 🍂🎨 Catoctin Colorfest returns to Thurmont October 10–11, bringing a full weekend of handmade art, one-of-a-kind crafts, food, live entertainment and plenty of reasons to spend the day exploring town. The official juried show in Thurmont Community Park is free to attend and runs from 9 AM–5 PM both days.

Whether you’re hunting for something unique, getting a head start on holiday shopping or just looking for a classic Frederick County fall day, Colorfest belongs on your October calendar.

Sorry for the Delay… the votes are in!!! The search for the Fall/Winter cover of Belocal Frederick is now complete! 🤣💕📸

This time we had over 20 submissions, narrowed down to the top 12 and over 400 votes came in between Insta and Facebook. There were three images that stood out to the voters and received the most votes but this one prevailed. The winning photo chosen is this beautiful vibrant sunset shot of Fall trees, the spires, carillon and more overlooking the City. The ambers, reds, yellows and greens say Fall in a big way. And add the rip through the sky and it gives wow factor no matter how many times you see it. 🌞 ❤️ 🌸

There were so many amazing ones to choose from that share the picturesque landscapes of Frederick! We are truly lucky to live in such a beautiful town.

Once again BeLocal fans, we need your help!!

The Time is NOW to pick your fave! 😳 There are so many great photos representing Frederick. Thank you to EVERYONE who submitted photos for the next BeLocal Frederick Cover Contest for the Fall/Winter season. We had just over 20 submitted. And these are finalists filtered out based on clarity, negative space and how they would work with our masthead. And once again, the quality, style, capture and wow factor was fantastic. We narrowed down to the 12 finalists and now we need YOUR input. 😂

🗣️ please tell us below in the comments which photo would work best to represent Frederick and you would like to see be used for our fall/winter cover of Belocal Frederick (Nov-Mar). Choose one favorite by stating the number in comments. This publication gets delivered FREE to new resident homeowners, moving to Frederick County, and should encompass and showcase our community during that season. Our content including most imagery is compiled by our locals. We will tally comments on both Instagram and Facebook, but ONE VOTE PER PERSON! (Swipe left)

Frederick, dust off the lederhosen. 🍻 Oktoberfest is turning 25! Get ready for a weekend of German food, b**r and w**e, live music, dancing and plenty of fun at the Frederick Fairgrounds. Even better, the celebration gives back to Frederick County community causes, with more than $1.3 million raised over the years.

At our last BeLocal social event hosted by Keymar Winery we collected Mission Admission from attendees there.

After we give out door prizes, we select another attendees card to choose the local non-profit we donate the ‘mission admission’ to. K. C. Ryerson of Owl Be There was chosen. She then selected the $$ to be split between 2 charities - African Americans of Excellence and Frederick Children's Chorus

We are happy to give each $250 toward their mission.

Who else can’t wait for these views again? 🍁 Fall has officially arrived in Frederick, and if last year’s peak foliage is any indication, we have a pretty spectacular season ahead. From colorful mountain views and scenic country roads to crisp walks downtown and weekends spent at local farms and festivals, fall is one of the best times to get out and enjoy Frederick County.
