When we launched Frederick Moms and Doulas we realized that one of the things we were most passionate about was connecting moms in the time immediately following the birth of their babies. NEST Groups came out of our own experiences as moms where we felt that this specific phase of motherhood (birth-one year) was overlooked. Not only did we want the moms we were supporting to be able to connect with one another, but also be able to connect to the community around them. Therefore, we desire for NEST groups to fill in the gap for families looking to connect with infants and young babies. Through NEST Frederick, we desire to nurture, empower, and strengthen ourselves and our families, as a community, together.

Our Story

"They had a baby, and we walked through this intimate journey with them and then we just said goodbye and good luck. It didn't feel right" -Brittany DeFrehn Founder, Motherhood Associates & Stronger Motherhood Our moto for our original Frederick team was always “Strong Moms. Strong Babies. Strong Families.” When we left clients after walking through their births with them, it seemed unnatural to just “let go” without a lifeline. Out of our own experiences as moms where we knew this specific phase of motherhood (birth-one year) was overlooked. We knew moms would get one doctors appointment for themselves, but most likely no more. Who is checking on moms? Who is helping them through this crazy and wild first year. From this our groups were born.

Motherhood Associates is a team dedicated to filling the gap between your doctors and your home. We are postpartum professionals located in a beautiful Downtown Frederick office where every family can receive support. Classes, feeding help, easy access to postpartum professionals, groups, and meet-ups all in one easy place. Even better, we have our signature Stronger Motherhood groups that walk moms through six mini sessions during their first year postpartum so nobody has to walk alone.
