We’re bringing a little Becker to the table at Fredericksburg Food & Wine Festival. 🍷✨

We’re delighted to be part of this year’s Street Dinner, pouring our 2023 Vintage Port for the fourth course, paired with a locally inspired dessert by Chef Casey McQueen of Boot Ranch.

And because one evening is never quite enough, you’ll find us the next day at the Grand Tasting, tucked into our corner spot in the Pavilion and pouring Becker wines all afternoon. 🥂

Holly is our next Team Member in our series “Lives Behind the Vines”. She recently joined our team as a Tasting Room Associate and we are excited to have her! ✨

“I was an Army brat,” said Holly with a smile when asked where she is from. “We moved around a lot but I’m mostly from Washington state.”

She had been in commercial real estate, met someone and moved to the well-known wine region in Yakima, WA. There she fell in love with the wine industry and obtained her Enology degree, graduating in 2010. She moved to Texas this year in June to be closer to her aunt. “She is getting older and needing more help on her farm and ranch.”

What is her favorite wine?

Holly said her favorites to drink are Cabernet Franc and Malbec, “But my favorite wine to make is Lemberger.”

She said she enjoys working with the red grape variety Lemberger because of its versatility. “You can make it light or heavy, dry or sweet. It responds well to light oak or more oak. You can change it drastically depending on what you are wanting to accomplish.”

Favorite food and wine pairing?

Holly mentioned she had once paired a Malbec with Holiday Fruit Cake. “It was fun because it was such an unexpected pairing!”
