Next in our “Lives Behind the Vines” is Abby! 🍷
She grew up outside of northwest Houston, TX. She got started in the wine industry when she separated from her ex. “I was already living in Fredericksburg by then and thought, with all the wine industry going on it would be a good place to work,” she said.
Abby had worked at another winery before joining Becker Vineyards 1 year + 2 weeks ago! We are happy to have her on our Team! She works at our winery in the Cellar and also as an associate at our Main Street Tasting Room. With a broad smile, Abby shared: “I’m in a unique position of participating in the whole workings of the winery. I have my hands in harvest, bottling, and serving guests all around the world. I’m gleaning knowledge from both sides.”
She enjoys seeing repeat guests. “I experienced a guest walking into our Tasting Room who recognized me from working at a previous winery. They were excited to see me and remembered their wine tasting experience with me. They told me they’d be back and they have, many times since.”
What’s Abby’s favorite wine?
“Since we are in our hot months, I really enjoy the 2024 Roussanne Reserve,” she said. “Prior to the weather change, it has been our 2022 Petit Verdot which I only have a few bottles left!”
