We wanted to share a very special project from earlier this year at the request of Warner Brothers Media - this custom thank you gift to members of a WB committee featured the 2022 Maya Angelou Quarter displayed along side a photo by Robert Ponzoni. We added this wonderful quote and personalized each photo with the recipient’s name.

The stunning quarter is the first in the American Women Quarters Program and depicts Maya Angelou with her arms uplifted along with a bird in flight and a rising sun . . . images inspired by her poetry and symbolic of the way she lived.

We would like to thank Warner Brothers for entrusting us with this project - one of my favorites to date! (full story and pics on our blog - link in bio)

We often just imagine and wonder about the people and meaning behind one of our custom pieces. This has extra special meaning as it is for a mom with stage 4 cancer and it will display a penny from her wedding day. The entire family is featured in the background (including five family dogs!) It could not be more special and we were honored to create it in time for Mother’s Day. Wishing all moms a wonderful day on Sunday and cherish the special moments! ❤️

New batch of 2022 pennies! Looks like this will be the last year you will see rolls of new pennies as the U.S. Mint will phase out production beginning in late 2022. The final batch will be released in proof sets and auctioned off. What will happen to all of the pennies? Well, other than framing them in CoinArt:) the government will begin their “Pennies for Freedom” reclamation program to collect the estimated 23 trillion unused pennies sitting in people’s homes and coin jars. Will the nickel become the new lucky coin??
