A huge thanks to The Boy Scouts Troop 66 of Wooster, who volunteered their time to come clean up around the dry hydrants in our district. Not only does it look much cleaner, it will also make them more accessible. We appreciate their hard work!

💧Drink Plenty of water throughout the day.
🌳Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
👕Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing.

🤝Please take a moment to check on elderly neighbors, friends, and family members - especially those who may not have air conditioning or who spend time outdoors.

Our firefighters and EMS personnel are here when you need us, but we hope these simple precautions help everyone stay healthy and safe during this period of extreme heat.

💧FREE COLD water bottles will be available at our station today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday) from 2-4.💧

The 4th of July is right around the corner, and we can't wait for the Largest Small Town Parade!

It's one of those special days when our community comes together, catches up with neighbors, waves to friends along the route, and celebrates what makes our town such a great place to call home.

Parade starts at 11am Line up begins at 9. No registration required

After the parade, stick around and enjoy everything the day has to offer, including food trucks, BBQ chicken, softball, live music, and plenty of family-friendly fun.

We hope to see everyone out enjoying the parade and making memories with family and friends. See you on the 4th! 🇺🇸🎆🚒

🚗 VEHICLE SAFETY AWARENESS🚗

This week, South Central Fire District , along with our friends from the Wayne County Sheriff , want to share some important reminders on vehicle safety, and sharing the road with e-bikes.

☑️Keep your distance when passing (at least 3 feet)
☑️Always look before you turn
☑️Adjust your speed
☑️Be cautious going over hills
☑️Always use your turn signals

This post may be focused on e-bikes, but there are many other types of transportation that we share the road with, including motorcycles, horse and buggies, farm equipment, and pedestrians. A lot of the same safety reminders apply to these as well. Whether it is a rural township road, a town street, or a busy county road, remember that your awareness protects lives.

🚲E-BIKE SAFETY AWARENESS🚲

As we head into the summer months and see more bicycles, motorcycles, and other traffic on our roads, South Central Fire District , along with our friends at the Wayne County Sheriff , would like to share some important safety reminders to help keep our roads and community safe.

Whether you're riding through town or traveling on county roads, please remember to:

✔️ Wear a helmet
✔️ Stop at stop signs
✔️ Signal your turns
✔️ Obey all traffic laws
✔️ Use lights and wear high-visibility clothing or safety vests
✔️ Stay alert and watch for other vehicles

By working together and practicing safe riding habits, we can help prevent accidents and ensure everyone gets home safely.
