🐝 It’s getting colder, but stinging insects are still hanging around!

As the warm season comes to a close and we head into fall, it’s not uncommon to still find large nests like this one around homes. This nest was built directly against the exterior of the home, around the electrical/service equipment and conduit — a good reminder that stinging insects can build in some unexpected places!

You may also find nests under rooflines and eaves, around utility boxes, decks and sheds, in trees and shrubs, or near openings that lead into wall voids.

⚠️ Don’t ignore a nest just because cooler weather is coming. When activity around the home is left untreated, we sometimes end up extracting nests from inside walls and other structural areas.

See a nest or stinging insect activity around your home? Give Pest Proof a call! Our experts can safely assess the activity and determine the appropriate treatment or removal.

🐝 Hearing crackling or buzzing inside your walls? Don't ignore it.

This is the time of year when we begin finding large yellowjacket nests hidden behind walls. What starts as a faint buzzing can quickly become thousands of stinging insects living inside your home.

Today's job involved safely extracting a yellowjacket nest from inside a customer's wall. Once the nest is completely removed, the damaged drywall will be professionally repaired.

If you're hearing unusual buzzing, scratching, or crackling sounds in your walls, it's best to have it inspected before the problem gets worse.

🚨 Hidden mosquito hotspot!
Your gutters may be holding more than leaves—they could be holding standing water where mosquitoes lay their eggs. A little prevention goes a long way toward a more comfortable, bite-free yard.
