America lost a warrior yesterday. A buddy of mine and teammate, Ron Shurer, died from a long and tenuous battle with cancer. Ron was the nicest, most unassuming, and most humble man I’ve had the pleasure to work with. He was a Medal of Honor recipient for some extraordinary super-hero s**t he did in a foreign land as a U.S. Army Special Forces medic. Apparently, that wasn’t enough, he had more to give for our great nation so, he went on to become a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service as a member of the President’s Counter Assault Team. Despite all of that, you know what he talked about the most - his wife and two kids. He was your everyday, ordinary proud American husband and father. His living example of giving, sacrifice, and humility should be the standard we all strive to achieve. Rest easy brother.
