On Saturday September 12th, 3 members of our department will be participating in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at MetLife Stadium to honor and remember the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

This year’s climb is especially meaningful as we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11th. Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the firefighters who continue to carry the physical and emotional impact of that day.

This event is more than a climb. We are climbing in memory of those who never made it home and to support those who continue to serve.

Through our participation, we are raising money for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), which supports the families of fallen firefighters and provides critical behavioral health and therapy services to FDNY members and firefighters across the country.

We want to give a huge thank you to Fire & Safety Services, Ltd. for working with our Vehicle Planning Committee throughout the process of ordering our new tanker!

From the beginning, they took the time to listen to our needs, answer our questions, and help us put together a vehicle that will be a great fit for our department and, most importantly, allow us to better serve our community.

We truly appreciate all the time, effort, and attention to detail that went into helping us build this new apparatus. We’re excited to see it come together and can’t wait to put it to work!

Thank you to everyone at Amy Wunderlich Performance Horses for spending time going over everything with our members. It was a great refresher, and great getting to know some of the friendly horses in the barns! 🐴

We hope we never have to use these skills, but are thankful we have been trained in them if the time ever comes.

We know many of our neighbors are still dealing with power outages, and we're always happy to do what we can to help our community!

If you or someone you know in Fredon Township is still without power, stop by Fredon Firehouse tonight from 6:00–8:00 PM.

We'll have dinner thanks to our friends at Cesco's, Luigi's, and Fredon Deli, along with a place to charge your phones, tablets, and other devices.

***BE AWARE*** The storm that came through caused many trees and wires down in our area, there are multiple road closures throughout Fredon. If you are traveling, be very aware of your surroundings and the possibility of roads being closed. Thank you!

Congratulations to our firefighter Hannah on officially stepping into her role as law enforcement officer with Atlantic City this summer!

After becoming a firefighter last year, Hannah continues to dedicate herself to serving her community in a new way as a law enforcement officer — following in her dad’s footsteps and continuing a proud family tradition of service.

We couldn’t be more proud of all she has accomplished and the commitment she shows to helping others. We know she will bring the same dedication, courage, and compassion to this new chapter.

A few of our members recently hit the links to participate in Green Township Fire Department and Stillwater Area Volunteer Fire Company golf outings. While their golf skills might be questionable, the laughs and support for our fellow fire department families are always a good time!

It's a great time getting together outside of the firehouse, building relationships with our neighboring departments, and supporting the brothers and sisters who support us every day when duty calls.

Thanks to Green FD and Stillwater FD for hosting these events - We'll see you back on the green again soon! ⛳ 🚒

You may have noticed new road markings on 94 in front of our firehouse saying “SLOW 45 MPH.” These markings were added as a reminder to use caution and slow down when passing our station.

When the tones drop and emergency vehicles are responding, our members are focused on getting out safely and quickly to help our community. A few extra seconds of caution from passing drivers can make a huge difference.

Please slow down, stay alert, and be prepared for emergency vehicles entering or exiting the firehouse. Our goal is to make sure everyone — our firefighters, our neighbors, and everyone traveling on the road — gets home safely.

Thank you to our member Mitch, who has been extremely persistent in getting these markings painted, along with signs about emergency vehicles entering the road way.

Fredon Fire Department is keeping our brothers and sisters of Sandyston Township Fire Department Station 38 in our prayers as they mourn the passing of Ex-Chief Alan “AD” DeLea.

Chief DeLea dedicated 25 years of service as Chief of the Sandyston Fire Department, leading from 1983 through 2008 with commitment, wisdom, and a passion for serving others. Throughout his years of service, he shared his knowledge and experience with countless firefighters across Sussex County, helping shape the next generation of responders.

Beyond the uniform, AD will be remembered for his friendship, his humor, and the genuine care he showed for his department, his members, and his community. His impact reached far beyond the firehouse, and the lessons, stories, and memories he left behind will continue to live on.

Chief DeLea’s dedication and service will never be forgotten. He will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched.

Rest easy, Chief.
