Hello! My name is Aspyn, I'm a sophomore at Freedom High School, and I'm a very active member of my FFA Chapter. At the end of my freshman year, I learned about hydroponics through my chapter’s president, Sami Vosters. She established her business, Crispy Clean Greens, and maintained it throughout her high school career, and is now passing the torch to me. I’m very grateful for the opportunity she has given me. I would love to continue to grow lettuce because growing fresh, sustainable lettuce for the community brings me so much joy. I will be starting my own business called Rooted and Rising. I plan to expand the business by growing different types of produce. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to contact me! I will be selling my produce through a Google form, which can be found on this page.

Exciting news!!! As I will headed off to college in the fall (attending UW-Madison for Finance & Agribusiness), I will not be continuing Crispy Clean Greens BUT I have had the privilege of mentoring Aspyn this past year and she is starting her own hydroponic lettuce business, Rooted And Rising! I encourage all of you to go support her on her own journey just as you supported me! Thank you for the past few wonderful years!!

Sami is one of four students who will complete a virtual interview in late September and the winner will be announced at the 97th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis in October!

Mark your calendars! It’s time for everyone’s favorite day of the year! Freedom FFA is doing their annual dairy distribution! We will be giving away 150 bags of FREE Wisconsin dairy products! Be sure to tell your friends! One bag per car while supplies last!

Distribution will take place at 4 pm sharp on Thursday, July 18th by the FHS Agriscience Department doors off of Hwy 55. This year we are asking if you could please enter through the main high school parking lot off of Cty Rd E and drive down to the Ag department to avoid backing up traffic on the roads. Can’t wait to see you all there!

I'm back, and with a Start of Summer Sale!! Each container will be $3 if you order before the end of the week! Pickup/delivery will be Thursday-Sunday this weekend.

NEW: scheduled orders! Throughout the summer, you can pick a day of the week and a time schedule (i.e. twice a week, once a month), and I will have your order filled by that day. This way you don't have to fill out the form each time and can know when to expect your lettuce!

Congratulations to the Section 8 February Member of the Month Samantha Vosters of the Freedom FFA Chapter!

Samantha is a junior serving as the chapter Treasurer this year and has been an active member for three years. Her SAE involves her growing lettuce hydroponically in the hydroponics lab in her school and then selling it to the community on her very own website called Crispy Clean Greens. She has impacted her community and chapter by raising money by starting her entrepreneurial journey and giving herself and the chapter new opportunities in the field of hydroponics.

Her nominator says, "She has an amazing work ethic and is dedicated and determined towards FFA" Samantha makes sure that all student members are treated with respect and kindness and always feel like they are welcome to participate in everything we do.
