🇺🇸 Flag Lowering - May 30 & 31, 2026 🇺🇸

Washington state and United States flags will be lowered to half-staff in memory of former Senator and Representative Samuel “Sam” Hunt. He served the Olympia area in the Legislature for nearly 25 years. A memorial service will take place on May 30, 2026, in Olympia, WA.

We are deeply saddened by the recent industrial tragedy that occurred in Longview, Washington, at the Nippon Dynawave facility. This mass casualty event has devastated Washington state. We grieve with the Longview community and the impacted families. Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities will be lowered to half-staff in their memory on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
