Sorry not sorry for this🫣
Since when did every 13, 14 & 15 year old from here to the state line become a horse trainer extraordinaire? 😂

Because some of the things I hear come out of young riders mouths lately and honestly, some adults too absolutely blow my mind.

I recently saw a young girl comment something incredibly rude on a video of a WORLD CHAMPION’S video basically claiming this woman knew nothing about training horses.
The confidence? Impressive.
The audacity? Even more impressive. 😂
But my personal favorite that grinds my gears is watching young kids tear down OTHER YOUNG KIDS like they’re the next Karen of the horse world.
Baby… you’re 14. Give me a damn break

Why are you already worried about what another kid is riding, who trained it, what bit they use, what division they run in, or how much their horse COST?

And THAT ONE really gets me.🤢

I hear kids and unfortunately adults compare someone’s worth, talent, and even their damn “popularity” as a rider based on the price tag of the horse underneath them.
That absolutely infuriates me.

I don’t give a s**t if Little Susie’s pony cost $2,000 or $100,000.

Is Little Susie HAPPY?!

Is she learning?

Is she taking care of her horse?

Is she becoming a better rider?

Is she walking out of that arena proud of herself?

THAT is what matters.

So if Little Chloe wants to sit over there discussing Little Susie’s pony’s price tag and using it as some imaginary ranking system of who is more important in the horse world yeah, I’ve got a real problem with that.
Because somewhere along the way, somebody taught these kids that having the expensive horse makes you somebody.

It doesn’t.

Money can buy an incredibly talented horse. It can buy great training. It can buy opportunities.

It cannot buy horsemanship, humility, work ethic, kindness, class, or character. To be completely honest worth ethic in kids and adults is hard to
find.

And before somebody says I’m “picking on kids” I’m not. I’m saying kids AND adults need to be checked sometimes.

I’m not going to watch one kid publicly belittle another kid and stay quiet because “they’re just kids.” That’s exactly when somebody should be teaching them better.

Confidence is GREAT. I want these young riders confident. I want them competitive. I want them walking into the alley believing they can outrun everybody there.

But confidence doesn’t require making somebody else feel small.

Hell, I don’t know everything. I’m still learning every damn day. The more horses teach me, the more I realize how much I still have left to learn.

You can be talented at 14.

You can be handy.

You can have a phenomenal horse.

You can win.

But stay teachable. Stay humble. And stay kind.

Because one day Little Susie and her $2,000 pony might just smoke Little Chloe and her six-figure horses ass.
And wouldn’t THAT just ruffle some feathers. 😜😂

Raise good riders. But more importantly, raise good humans.
Featuring the horse who didn’t have a big price tag but he shows up , tries hard and most importantly we’ve busted our ass together to get seasoned and finished enough to get there 🫶🏼
Till next time between the barn and heaven 🫶🏼❤️
