Don’t go batty, but we’re starting a little October series about some misunderstood creatures that tend to get a bad rap, especially this time of year!
First up, BATS! 🦇
More specifically, our very own Indiana bat….
These little guys aren’t Dracula. They’re more like mosquito munching janitors working the night shift.
Believe it or not, Indiana bats love old trees with loose bark for their summer homes. So, not every dead tree in the forest is wasted space. Some are basically bat condos. 💁🏻♀️
Unfortunately, Indiana bats are an endangered species, making the protection of their natural habitats especially important.
So, while they might look a little spooky, your misunderstood neighbors are actually doing some pretty important work keeping insect populations in check.
Not all heroes dress up for Halloween. Some are just born with wings. 💪🏼🦇
