Qualifying:1st
Heat Race: P4-P3

Made some changes to the car for this week and seemed to be better still not what I want but better. We were in the last group of qualifying and end up setting quick time. Heat Race had to start fourth due to the invert where had a decent race moving up a spot. In the feature we passed two cars on the start only to give those spots up a couple laps later when I about spunout in turn two. Had a good battle for 5th and ended up finishing there. We are off until the end of August at Knoxville so might go to Burlington sometime soon.

Qualifying: 4th
Heat Race: 1st
Feature: 9th

The night started off well. In the Heat race started on the pole and stretched it out to 3 second lead. We were the high point car for the night and i drew a 6 for the invert. We made a minor change for the feature and the car didn't like it at all. Started 6th and was running 7th when there was a caution. On the restart the green was displayed on the signal lights then immediately went yellow, I slowed up and got passed by 2 cars. The restart wasn't called back and we ended up 9th. Disappointed with the results but we will try some changes to the car in the shop this week and hopefully improve next weekend.

Feature: P2-P5

Went out last in Qualifying and was able to set quick time. Heat Race we picked off 1 car on the opening lap and ran 3rd the rest of the race. Feature we started on the outside of row 1. We tried a few things but didn't get the car tight enough for where I wanted to try to run on the track. After getting passed by a couple cars decided to just go to the bottom and fall in line. Ended up 5th. We will try again July 4th.

We were a little off in Qualifying. Made some changes for the heat race and finally found a little speed. Made more changes for the feature and the car felt pretty good. We still are alittle off the pace but are making progress. Baby steps. We are off this week so we will try again in a couple weeks.

Feature: P11-P10

Went on in group 1 in Qualifying and the track wasn't ready for cars but this is a weekly problem so no need to complain. We struggled to find speed all night long and I didn't do my job going on the track where I should have. We tried a few things out that didn't work and we will try some things out this Friday as we are the support class for the world of outlaws.

It was a long week getting everything back together after the wreck last week. Frame is alittle bent but seems not to have affected the handling. Our class is off the next two weeks so we will be preparing another car to try our hand at the 360 class at Knoxville. Stay tuned.

Overall just a rough night. We qualified in the first flight which the track was still greasy. Made some changes for the heat race and car seemed better. Made some more changes for the feature. On the initial start of the race we passed two car right away and thought we might have a good night but unfortunately that start was called back and on the next start we got caught up in someone else's wreck with nowhere to go. Sucks but that's racing sometimes. We will fix the car this week and try again Saturday.

Opening night definitely had some highs and lows. Heat Race had a plug wire come off and ran the race on 7 cylinders. Ran most of the feature in 5th place but with a late caution spun the tires on the restart and let a car get by, then on the last lap had to slow down due not being able to see due to my glasses fogging up which allowed two over cars to get around me. I'll be ordering contacts tomorrow. Want to say a huge thank you to my Dad, Mark Simms, Frank Tharp, and Chris Playle for their help in the pits fixing a fuel leak before the feature. We will be back at Knoxville next week and try again.
