Instead of hanging out with cows, we hung out with horses today! It was great being a volunteer judge at Happy Trails Riding Academy for their horse show! We had some amazing riders and horses compete today, and got to see some old friends. Congratulations everyone!
A huge thank you to the staff, instructors, and volunteers for an amazing day. It’s always great getting involved in the community any way I can.

Our Nutritionist Leslie Jacobsen had a chance to go a Dairy Consultant Meeting hosted by Lallemand this past month in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The talks were amazing from start to finish, and focused on sustainability, feed markets, and of course, silage. A huge thank you to everyone that made this possible, and to the new friends that were made. We’re excited to see what’s to come this next year!

While we’ve been enjoying the rain this season, we’re also soaking up the sun when we can. We have yet to face plant in the mud, but the season isn’t over yet! We hope this season brings you a generous crop yield and that you & your cows stay semi-dry.

It’s a bird…it’s a plane…it’s a drone! We use a drone to audit mixer wagons safely and efficiently. By getting a Birds Eye view, our nutritionists can spot potential issues with loading and unloading the mixer wagon. Performing these audits can reduce feed shrink, decrease feeder errors, and overall improve the ration. Give us a call or visit our website if we can fly for you!

Introducing a new addition to the team! Leslie Jacobsen is new to the company, but not to the dairy industry. She worked as a Research Associate with UC Davis’s Nutriton laboratory in Tulare, CA doing field research for 8 years. During that time, she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal Science from California State University, Fresno in 2018, and then a Master’s of Science degree in Animal Biology from University of California, Davis in 2022. During her time at Fresno State, Leslie was involved in the Dairy Science Club, and the Dairy Challenge Team.

She is also a member of ARPAS, and continues to go to conferences, continuing education courses, and research webinars to further her knowledge and to bring that information to her clients.

In her down time, you can find her at the coast, or in the mountains. She also enjoys creating art, and training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Leslie is dedicated to her clients, and strives to bring the best and most current information to the dairy industry.

Introducing one of the owners and the President of Nutri-Systems INC.! Andy Riordan has been consulting since 2008 after receiving a Bachelor’s of Science (2006) and a Master’s of Science (2009) both in Animal Science from California State University, Fresno. Andy was involved in the dairy at Fresno State where he milked and fed dairy cows along with assisting in feed trial work. He was also President and Vice President of Fresno State’s Dairy Club, and participated in the first ever Dairy Challenge in California.

Andy is a member of California American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists (ARPAS). While in ARPAS, he has served on the research committee, as Director at Large, and as Secretary.

During his down time, you can find him in a duck blind, hunting, fishing, or spending time with his family.

Andy’s commitment of the future of animal agriculture is never ending, and his passion for making the dairy industry better are some of the reasons why Nutri-Systems is still one of the top rated nutritional firms in California.

Nutri-Systems INC. was started in 1969, and was one of the first independent Animal Nutrition Consulting Firms to be established in California.
