Access Plus Capital was proud to be part of the Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative (CVIIC) Regional Conference on Friday, August 21. đź’š

APC’s Vice President of Impact, Ushan Samarakone, joined the conference as a panelist for an important conversation on the contributions immigrant entrepreneurs make to our economy and how organizations can work together to advance opportunities for immigrant-owned businesses.

Ushan also shared insights and emerging findings from Many Voices, One Future: Southeast Asian Business Study, a community-led initiative focused on better understanding the experiences, challenges, and opportunities of Southeast Asian entrepreneurs.

He was joined on the panel by Steve Tobocman, Executive Director of Global Detroit, bringing together perspectives from Central California and Detroit on strengthening immigrant entrepreneurship and building more inclusive regional economies.

A new chapter for a Turlock staple! đź’š

On August 20, Access Plus Capital was proud to celebrate the ribbon cutting for Carr's Cleaners at 500 East Main St. in Turlock, CA.

Carr's Cleaners has been part of the community since 1945, when it was opened by Bill and Blanch Carr. After decades of ownership, the business was later purchased by Harry Boucher, who continued serving the community for 46 years.

Then one day, Aman walked in with a pile of dry cleaning, and Harry asked if he wanted to buy the shop. What started as a surprising conversation became an opportunity for Aman to carry on the legacy of Carr's Cleaners.

After being turned down by 25 banks, Aman attended the Turlock Funding Expo in January, connected with Valley Sierra SBDC, and was referred to Access Plus Capital.

APC was proud to help finance Aman’s purchase of two Carr's Cleaners locations in Turlock and support the continuation of a long-standing local business.

Access Plus Capital was proud to connect with food entrepreneurs at the Roseville Food Founders Program, also known as Roseville Rising: Food, at Roseville Venture Lab. đź’š

APC Small Business Loan Officer II, Obeth Arias, attended the event after being invited by the Sacramento SBA to share more about Access Plus Capital, our financing options, and how we support business owners at different stages of growth.

The Roseville Food Founders Program is a free 10-week business accelerator hosted by the City of Roseville through the Roseville Venture Lab in partnership with Growth Factory Nonprofit. The program is designed to help aspiring and early-stage food entrepreneurs launch, grow, and strengthen their food-related businesses.

Obeth had the opportunity to connect with entrepreneurs, answer questions about funding in the early stages of starting a business, and schedule follow-up appointments with potential clients.
