Howdy! We have finally settled into our new clubhouse! It's located at 404 W. McKinley Avenue, Fresno, CA between Palm and Fruit Avenues. To help you get a visual in finding it, we've attached a picture of the outside of the building.
Our monthly general meetings are still every third Thursday of the month, at 7:00 p.m., at the University of California Center 550 E. Shaw Avenue, Fresno, CA. Whether a current member or interested in what our club is about and becoming a member, we invite you to join us there each month! There's a plethora of gem and mineral knowledge, the latest news about the club, beautiful silent auctions, yummy refreshments, and a wonderful community of folks who LOVE ROCKS!!!

Have you visited FGMS this year at The Big Fresno Fair?! We've worked hard to bring you great exhibits and tons of valuable information. Our group strives to provide a great place to learn about our earth and the wonderful treasures she shares with us. This year, check out the rock feast table. Its rocks that resemble food! And be sure to gaze at our hand-crafted chandelier with over 300 polished rocks and crystals! It's amazing!!! We look forward to seeing you there!!!!

Did you know that the Fresno Gem and Mineral Society awards scholarships to students attending Fresno State University that are enrolled in classes and projects involving gems and minerals? Earlier this month, 4 of our FGMS club members were distinguished guests at the Fresno State 2017 Annual Dinner. It was a pleasure for them to meet our scholarship students/recipients. The members talked about our club and how our recipients give presentations at our general meetings. The students also present their research and the projects that we fund with those scholarships. These scholarships are another great benefit of how the club gets involved with our community!

Fresno Gem & Mineral Society's next general meeting will be Thursday, May 25, 2017 @ 7:00 p.m. Presently, the meetings are every 4th Thursday of the month at the University of California Center Bldg., 550 E. Shaw Ave., across from Fashion Fair. Interested in becoming a member of this fun and knowledgeable group? Attend the meeting and see how!!!

Hi! My name is Peggy and my husband Daniel and I went on our first field trip with the Fresno group on Saturday, April 1, 2017. We had a great time!
Here are photos I took of the outing in the Mohave Desert with around 16 other club members.
We found fossilized Bog Wood and Palm Wood.
One piece of Bog has fossilized pieces of plant material. Very Fun!

Hi Fresno Gem & Mineral Society members or folks wanting to become a member!

The next General Meeting is Thurs., Sept. 22, 2016 at 550 E. Shaw (across from Fashion Fair) @ 7 p.m. sharp!!! Cool down with our ice cream social plus another fun meeting with Rock Friends!

We need contributions for the ice cream social so we love ... Ice cream, toppings including fruit toppings such as bananas, nuts, flavored syrups, whipped cream, cookies, etc.

The Club will provide coffee, water, and utensils to enjoy this old fashion ice cream feast ... We mean Festival!

Reminder! FGMS monthly meeting is tomorrow, Thursday, 6-23, 7:00 p.m. at the University of California Building, 550 E. Shaw, across from Fashion Fair. If you've ever wanted to join or see what the Fresno group of rock hounders does, come join us!

Refreshments will be served and the famous SILENT AUCTION will be one of the best!

Our new member, Matthew Wood, will be our featured program speaker … sharing his collection (going back to his father’s mineral collecting and MORE) and a brief video on photography of rocks, minerals and jewelry. IF YOU LIKE ROCKS, MINERALS AND GORGEOUS HAND MADE JEWELRY, bring or wear a drool bib. This collection is outstanding.
