Hi Everyone,

Our yard operator was picking up garbage with the excavator and moving it to the trailer when a can of paint exploded and sprayed paint all over the wall and floor. We now have to spend extra time cleaning up the mess.

The Transfer Station does collect cans of paint free! of charge under the Paint Care Program during the general public hours.

Please be mindful on what can and cannot go into the garbage.

Hi Everyone,

I don't know how many times I have to post on Facebook about NOT PUTTING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS in the garbage.

To the customer who brought these items in today, if you missed Hazmat Day last Saturday, or if you just threw them in with your garbage, you should have saved them for next year. We now have to store them and dispose of them on our dime.

Pleas be responsible on what and what cannot go in the garbage.

The San Juan County Noxious weeds program is back starting Friday March 6,2026.

Please bring a piece of paper with the following information clearly written out also.

Your name:
Telephone Number:
Physical address where the weeds came from. (NO PO Box):
Type of weeds:

This will help speed the process up, especially during the busy season.

There is still a maximum of 300lbs per trip. Any overage will be paid by the customer.

Noxious weeds can be bought in during the general public hours.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday 9:00am -4:00pm
Monday 9:00am - 12:00 noon.
