Thank you to Jennifer and Stephanie with Motiv8 for leading Autumn Oak's August Lunch and Learn! 💜

We learned about the importance of reflex integration, or the involuntary movement patterns a child has at birth becoming dormant as they gain more mature, voluntary movements. The appropriate development of stability and mobility depend on these integration milestones being met. Occupational therapists specialize in addressing faulty movement patterns that may develop as a result of reflexes not becoming integrated, and help bridge the gap.

Motiv8 offers occupational therapy services that are accessible to families with children who face mental and physical challenges. Their focus is to help children develop the appropriate skills needed to complete daily activities as independently as possible to live a functional and meaningful life.

Give a warm welcome to Elizabeth, the newest addition to our amazing speech therapist team! 🌸✨

Originally from California, Elizabeth resides in Texas where she is completing her clinical fellowship. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science from Arizona State University and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from West Coast University. She is a member of the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA).

Before becoming a speech-language pathologist, Elizabeth worked as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, providing therapy in a private clinic setting. Elizabeth enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan. She is dedicated to advocating and helping each patient build confidence, achieve functional communication goals, and improve their quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her husband, their two daughters, two giant dogs, and their cat. In her free time, she loves reading, gardening, and cheering on her daughters at their sports and activities.
