Off to the Benefit Auction Summit in Napa with the National Auction Association! 🎤

One thing I’ve learned after more than 20 years in this industry: you’re never done learning.

I’m heading into a few days of classes, conversations, and learning from some of the best benefit auctioneers in the business. I love getting to sharpen my skills, hear new ideas, and bring that knowledge back to the nonprofits I work with.

Being a great auctioneer is about more than being a great bid caller.

The chant gets attention.
The energy gets the room going.
But the real job? That’s so much bigger.

Reading the room.
Connecting with the donor, the organization, and the audience.
Creating urgency without losing the heart behind the cause.

Because at the end of the night, I don’t want someone saying, “Wow, she can really call bids.”

I want them saying, “She made people want to give.”

That’s the difference.
