Winter Storm Warning across DFW and North Texas. 🧊
This is a real freeze event — plan for icy roads, possible outages, and frozen pipes. Now’s the time to prep, not after the damage shows up. Stay safe.

⚠️ Winter Storm WARNING issued for all areas in pink, including North Texas and the DFW Metroplex ⚠️

📆 In effect from 6pm on Friday to 12pm on Sunday.

🥶 Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Ice accumulations between one quarter of an inch and one half of an inch. Isolated amounts up to three quarters of an inch can't be ruled out. In addition, sleet and snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches with amounts near or above 5 inches near the Red River are also possible.

💨 The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting power outages. Expect power outages and tree damage due to the ice. Travel could be impossible.

⚠️ Now is the time to prepare. Cover outdoor faucets and turn sprinkler systems off. Stock up on necessary grocery items for the next few days. Have an emergency kit ready in case of power outages. Check on vulnerable neighbors, friends and family.

🚗 Consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Take a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.

Heads up — this is a hard freeze setup, not just cold weather. 🧊❄️If you’re in the red zone, expect dangerous roads, pow...

Heads up — this is a hard freeze setup, not just cold weather. 🧊❄️
If you’re in the red zone, expect dangerous roads, power issues, and a real risk of pipe freezes. Prep now: drip faucets, cover exposed lines, charge devices, and stay off the roads if you can.

WINTER STORM IMPACTS ‼️😵‍💫 Sunday - Monday!

When we talk about impacts we mean everything from travel to personal health. Help your neighbors who may not be as physically capable of snow removal! And avoid all unnecessary travel. Prepare for power outages as well especially those who will experience ice. The brutal cold that follows will stick around!
