Your team can’t meet expectations you never defined. 👏
How many times have you thought…
They should know better.
I’ve told them this before.
Why do I have to keep reminding them?
They KNOW what I expect.
But here’s the leadership question:
Do they actually know… or are you expecting them to read your mind?
One of the simplest leadership tools you can start using is:
💗 WHAT?
What exactly needs to happen?
💗 WHEN?
When should it be completed?
💗 WHAT DOES GOOD LOOK LIKE?
What does “done correctly” actually mean?
For example:
❌ “Keep your station clean.”
That sounds clear to you.
But try this instead:
✅ “Before your next client is seated, your station should be sanitized, tools put away, floor clear and everything reset for the next guest.”
Now there's no guessing.
And more importantly, there's something you can actually coach and hold someone accountable to.
Because accountability without clarity usually creates frustration on BOTH sides.
Before you say…
“They should know better.”
Ask yourself:
Did I clearly define what better looks like?
That's leadership. 💗
SAVE THIS: Use the WHAT + WHEN + WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE framework at your next team meeting.
👇 And tell me: What's one expectation you need to make clearer with your team this week?
