WELL WELL WELL WE HAVE A CHAMPION

Tonight was a HARD night of cooking as Engineer Kaden Fife went head-to-head against Captain Ben Gardner in the ultimate Green Crew Cook-Off!

The challenge? The crew handed both competitors the same humble starting lineup: 🥔 potatoes, 🧅 1 onion, and 🍗 chicken thighs — plus a $20 allowance and access to anything already in the kitchen.

With limited ingredients, limited funds, and plenty of pressure, both chefs had to get creative and make something worthy of the win.

After a hard-fought battle in the galley, Engineer Kaden Fife emerged as tonight’s champion! 👨‍🍳🏆

Congratulations, Kaden! And hats off to Captain Ben for bringing the heat and making it a battle to remember. 🔥

The Green Crew Cook-Off has a new champion! 🍽️💚

🚒🥤 No hydrant? Grab a giant cup and a really big straw.

Today’s training involved our new 4,000-gallon water tender and ladder truck practicing drafting operations. When there’s no hydrant nearby, drafting allows us to pull water from a static source and put it to work on the fireground.

The drop tank acts as our giant cup, while the truck uses suction to pull that water in—keeping the water flowing when the fireground is far from a hydrant. 💧🔥

Big shoutout to Engineer Kaden Fife and Firefighter Collin Metzgar for conquering the Moab Arches 50K! 🏜️💪

50 kilometers of red rock, elevation, grit, and determination—and they crossed that finish line like the pros they are.

From responding to emergencies to running through the desert, these two know a thing or two about endurance! 👏

Congrats, Kaden & Collin! The only thing tougher than the Moab terrain might be the two of you. 🔥🔥

🌶️ TIGHT RACE 🌶️

The Station 31 cook-off rivalry continues…

Tonight, Engineer Fife officially tied the series after Captain Gardner’s chili failed to survive crew judging. Apparently, one taste was enough before it was sentenced to the floor (jk, the chili was actually good—we just can’t let Gardner know that).😂

But the real deciding factor was dessert. Engineer Fife came prepared with a chocolate chip cobbler, while Captain Gardner answered with a blueberry cornbread cobbler. After the votes were counted, Engineer Fife took the win and tied the series.

When asked for comment following the loss, Captain Gardner stated:

“I’m contemplating the meaning of life after this loss.”

So now it all comes down to this. The next cook-off will decide the Station 31 champion. 🏆

We’re giving these gentlemen a bye week to regroup, study the film, question their life choices, and prepare for the championship round in two weeks.

Stay tuned. Things are getting serious in the Station 31 kitchen. 🌶️👨‍🚒

🍔 BURGER NIGHT 🍔

Clean sweep by Captain Gardner tonight with a 7-0 vote! Engineer Fife, you may want to start thinking about just sticking to your engineer duties. Upon Engineer Fife losing twice in a row, his only comment was “never trust a skinny cook” 😂

“WELL WELL WELL LOOK HOW THE TABLES HAVE TURNED”

Cook off night, shift number two. Tonight the theme was breakfast for dinner. Captain Gardner won with what he thinks is a landslide victory (by only two votes). Better luck next week Engineer Fife.

🌮 FAJITA COOK OFF NIGHT AT STATION 31🌮

Captain Ben Gardner has challenged Engineer Kaden Fife in a 1 month long cooking contest! All the crew members get to vote on their favorite meal when dinner time comes around. Tonight Engineer Fife swept Captain Gardner with a 7 to 0 vote from the crew members!

More to come next Green Crew shift! Better luck next week Captain Gardner!
