⚾ A day away from the tools and a day with the family. 🐯

Today I had the opportunity to take my family to Detroit for a Tigers game, and days like this remind me why I work as hard as I do.

Running a small business isn’t always easy. There are long days, early mornings, late nights, estimates to write, materials to pick up, jobs to finish, and plenty that happens behind the scenes. But moments like these make all of that hard work worth it.

One of the biggest reasons I do what I do is family. Being able to put the tools down for a day, spend time together, laugh, watch some baseball, and make memories that we’ll hopefully talk about for years is something I’m incredibly thankful for.

And we couldn’t have picked a much better game. The Tigers won it on a walk-off hit in the bottom of the 9th! 🐯⚾ The whole ballpark was going crazy…

…although I’m pretty sure Cale was still more pumped that he got to see LA’s Shohei Ohtani play in person and also meet PAWS😂 Seeing how excited he was about these moments might have been two of my favorite parts of the entire day.

I’m incredibly thankful for DeHaan Home Solutions and for every customer who has trusted me with their home. Every repair, project, referral, and phone call helps support my family and gives us the opportunity to have days like this together. That’s something I don’t ever want to take for granted.

At the end of the day, we work hard to provide for our families—but it’s just as important to occasionally put the work aside and spend time with the people we’re working so hard for.

Today was one of those days. ❤️

A Tigers walk-off win, Cale getting to see Ohtani and the mascot, and most importantly, another memory made together as a family.

🔨 Another Bathroom Remodel Complete! 🚿✨

We recently finished a complete bathroom renovation that completely transformed this space from the ground up!

This project included:
✅ Complete demolition of the old shower door, surround, shower base, vanity, toilet, and flooring.
✅ Repaired and replaced rotten subfloor in both the bathroom and adjoining bedroom.
✅ Installed new underlayment throughout the bathroom and bedroom.
✅ Installed beautiful new sheet vinyl flooring.
✅ Installed a new fiberglass shower base, surround, and sliding shower door.
✅ Installed a new vanity with countertop and sink.
✅ Replaced water supply lines, shut-off valves, and plumbing for both the shower and vanity.
✅ Installed a new toilet with new shut-off valve and supply line.
✅ Relocated the medicine cabinet and electrical outlet to properly fit the new vanity.
✅ Installed a new vanity light fixture.
✅ Finished everything off with new base trim throughout the bathroom and bedroom.

From repairing hidden water damage to the final finishing touches, this bathroom received a complete makeover and is ready for many years of reliable use.

🚪 Another Successful Sliding Patio Door Replacement! 🏡

This project involved much more than simply swapping out an old patio door.

To ensure a long-lasting, weather-tight installation, we:
✔️ Removed the existing sliding glass door.
✔️ Test-fit the new door to verify the opening before final installation.
✔️ Carefully removed the vinyl siding and J-channel to allow for proper installation.
✔️ Installed flashing on the sill, jambs, and head to help protect the home from future water intrusion.
✔️ Set and secured the new sliding patio door.
✔️ Flashed over the nail fl**ge to create a continuous weather-resistant barrier.
✔️ Reinstalled the home’s vinyl siding into the door’s integrated J-channel for a clean, factory-style finished appearance.

The details behind the siding are just as important as what you can see from the outside. Taking the time to flash and seal everything correctly helps protect the home for years to come.

First metal roof of the year in North Muskegon is officially in the books! 💪🏽

It’s been a busy spring, and we haven’t posted since Mother’s Day, but we’ve been hard at work helping homeowners throughout the area.

This new metal roof turned out great and will provide decades of protection with minimal maintenance.

Pretty cool feeling seeing the DeHaan Home Solutions banner hanging out at the Fruitport baseball fields this season. ⚾️

As a small local business, being able to support the Fruitport Youth Baseball Club means a lot to me and my family. These kids are building friendships, confidence, work ethic, and memories they’ll carry for life — and I’m proud to play even a small part in helping make that happen.
