Here’s a good example of what a sewer pipe rat issue looks like outside of the wall of your house. The people that live here have had nonstop rats outside and inside of their house due to the house not being sealed properly and this pipe being open directly outside. They received bids from competitors at 10k and 5k! We did it for 2k. And no other company pointed this issue out our goal is to solve rodent problems not patch or prolong them.

We’ve started using wildfire defense mesh as part of our rodent proofing packages. This product is specifically designed to stop embers from entering attics, wall voids, basements etc and is a great product to be used when sealing entry points for rodents combining the protections of wildlife exclusion and wildfire protection.

Another broken sewer pipe found in the wall of a house that we performed a full structure rodent proofing seal at to keep rats out. After sealing the entire building a month went by and the customer reported scratching in their shower wall, with rodent f***s coming out of the shower handle. Due to the house being fully sealed and the lack of activity on the traps in the attic for weeks it became obvious to us that there was high potential for a broken sewer pipe in the wall. We used our endoscopic camera to drop down from the roof into the breather pipe and located the broken pipe in the wall.

As of January 1st 2024 Assembly Bill 1322 signed by governor Gavin Newsom will be in Effect limiting the use of most the second-generation rodenticides allowed to be used in california by pest management professionals state wide. In 2020 the Governor signed a bill that prohibited the use of all first-generation rodenticides to protect non target wildlife from eating rats poisoned by these first-generation rodenticides and dying. After 2020 we can all agree that coyote populations, hawk and birds of prey populations, and yes rat populations have sky rocketed across southern California. The combination of companies being closed and dropping the rodent control services they had when covid hit in 2020 coupled with all pest management professionals switching to second generation rodenticides directly caused the increase in rat populations we see today. I agree that the switch to second-generation rodenticides was good as its clear non target wildlife is now thriving in our communities. The second-generation rodenticides available to all pest management professionals after January first have a 100% price increase to pest management professionals. The problem with that is every active bait station account across southern California is about to double in price so there are going to be a lot of commercial and residential accounts closing due to cost and its definitely going to make the rat populations increase again over the next few years everywhere in California. Moral of the story is if you're house isn't rodent proofed there is no better time!
