If you've ever grabbed traps and spray from the hardware store — only to have the ants or mice come right back — you're not alone.

The products on retail shelves are made for general use. They're not designed to find where a colony is nesting, what's drawing pests to your home in the first place, or how they're getting inside. They kill what you can see and leave everything else untouched.

Here's what's different when Raptor shows up:

✅ We identify the exact species — because the wrong treatment for the wrong pest makes things worse, not better
✅ We find the source — nests, entry points, harborage conditions — not just surface activity
✅ We use professional-grade products not available over the counter — more effective and longer-lasting
✅ We seal the entry points — so the problem doesn't come back two weeks later

One of our customers put it well: "I like how they humanely deal with pests. They explain what they're going to do, and give excellent customer service."

That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every job across Flint, Saginaw, Midland, and Mid-Michigan.

That scratching sound in the wall at night? It's probably not the house settling.

Mice are sneaky. By the time most Mid-Michigan homeowners realize they have a problem, the infestation is already well underway. Here are 4 warning signs to check for right now — especially heading into the colder months.

1️⃣ Droppings along wall edges or in cabinet corners — small, dark, and pointed at both ends
2️⃣ Gnaw marks on food packaging, wood trim, or wiring — mice chew constantly to file down their teeth
3️⃣ Nesting material tucked into wall voids, attic insulation, or behind appliances — shredded paper, fabric, or insulation
4️⃣ Scratching or scurrying sounds in the walls at night — that's when they're most active

If you're checking these boxes, don't wait. A small mouse problem becomes a large one fast — a single female can produce up to 10 litters a year.

Raptor Pest Control serves homeowners across Flint, Saginaw, Bay City, Midland, and all of Mid-Michigan. We'll inspect your home, find exactly where they're getting in, and make sure they can't come back.

We spent the last few days in Chicago attending the Small Business Expo at UIC. It was an incredible opportunity to hear from industry leaders, successful entrepreneurs, and a panel of Shark Tank entrepreneurs who turned their ideas into thriving businesses with investments from Mark Cuban and other notable investors.

One of the biggest takeaways was that regardless of industry, the fundamentals remain the same: hard work, consistency, adaptability, and a willingness to keep learning. Grateful for the insights, conversations, and fresh perspective we’re bringing back home as we continue growing our businesses.

Always investing in ourselves so we can better serve our customers, our communities, and our future.

⚠️ Seeing a nest on your Mid-Michigan property? Read this first.

Not all stinging insects are the same — and treating them the same way can make things much worse.

🐝 Bees (honey bees, bumble bees) are pollinators. In Michigan, we relocate them when possible — not exterminate.
🟡 Wasps & yellow jackets build paper nests in eaves, decks, and ground burrows. Highly aggressive when disturbed.
🖤 Bald-faced hornets build the large gray football-shaped nests you see in Mid-Michigan trees every summer — never approach one alone.

Raptor Pest Control serves Lansing, Mount Pleasant, Midland, Bay City, Saginaw, and all of Mid-Michigan. Same-day service available.

Raptor Pest Control helps homeowners take a proactive approach to tick prevention by inspecting the property, identifying high-risk areas, and creating a pest management plan built for long-term protection.

Common tick-friendly areas include:
Tall grass
Wooded edges

Birds had already become an issue at this commercial property, causing damage and ongoing concerns for the building.

Today we corrected the problem and installed exclusion measures designed to prevent it from happening again.

The good news is there are plenty of nearby trees and natural areas where the birds can safely relocate without impacting the property or business operations.

A big thank you to Michigan Headstones in Saginaw for trusting our team. Great people and a pleasure to work with!

Using the aerial lift on a previous job to help a homeowner in Chesaning, Michigan safely and humanely solve a bat issue before things turned into a much bigger problem.

As we now approach Michigan’s bat blackout period, exclusions will soon pause and remain on hold until August while maternal colonies raise their young. During this time, bat pups are unable to fly, which is why ethical and legal exclusions cannot be performed.

Michigan’s older homes, barns, dormers, ridge vents, and roof returns create perfect entry points for bats, and many homeowners have no idea they even have activity until noises, staining, or odors begin appearing.

This jobs project required a man lift to safely access entry points and complete the exclusion the right way.

Thank you again to the homeowners for trusting Raptor Pest Control.

Serving Mid Michigan with honest, professional wildlife and pest solutions.

If your pest problem keeps coming back, the treatment isn't reaching the source.
Store-bought sprays and traps are built for general use. They're not designed to find where pests are entering, why they're there, or what's keeping them around.

At Raptor Pest Control, every visit starts with a full inspection — not just a treatment. We identify the pest, locate the source, seal entry points, and use professional-grade products that aren't available over the counter.

Serving Saginaw, Bay City, Flint, and Mid-Michigan.

While you’re asleep, this is what’s going bump in the night… 👀🌙🦝

Raccoons, possums, and other nocturnal wildlife become extremely active after dark, traveling rooftops, attics, crawlspaces, decks, and property edges searching for food and shelter. These trail cam captures are from active trapping and wildlife control jobs we’re currently handling for clients across Mid Michigan.

If you’re hearing scratching, thumping, chirping, or unexplained noises after dark, there’s a good chance you’re not alone up there.

The scratching, running, and chewing sounds in this client’s attic turned out to be 3 Eastern Fox Squirrels living on the roof and attempting to access the home. 🐿️

This was one of the squirrels we humanely trapped during the removal process. While they may look harmless, squirrels in attics can quickly damage insulation, wiring, and wood structures if left unchecked.

If you’ve been hearing activity overhead, it’s usually not something that gets better on its own.
