WE’RE HIRING — CIVIL JR. ESTIMATOR / ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

McKinney Contracting is looking for a motivated Civil Jr. Estimator / Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team in the Gainesville, FL area.

This position will work directly with estimating and project management on commercial and residential site development projects involving earthwork, grading, underground utilities, storm drainage, demolition, and parking lot construction.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

* Assist with quantity takeoffs and preparation of project estimates
* Review civil plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents
* Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier pricing
* Assist with bid preparation, scope review, and proposal development
* Assist Project Managers with submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, purchasing, and project documentation
* Track project quantities, costs, and production
* Communicate with field supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, GCs, engineers, and owners
* Strong ability to read and understand civil construction plans
* Site development or heavy civil construction experience is preferred
* Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related education/experience is a plus

Software experience is a plus, including:
Bluebeam Revu • PlanSwift • AGTEK • InSite Elevation • HCSS HeavyBid • Microsoft Excel and similar estimating/takeoff software.

We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, willing to learn, and interested in growing into a larger estimating and/or project management role within McKinney Contracting.

Minimum Qualifications:

* 10+ years of experience in commercial and residential site development.
* Extensive experience with earthwork, grading, underground utilities, and parking lot construction.
* Must be able to read and interpret construction plans proficiently.
* Must be capable of leading field crews while maintaining clear communication and coordination with the Project Manager.
* Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, and daily production while maintaining quality and safety standards.
