Last month we captured over 600 miles of 360 imagery documenting the tremendous damage done by Hurricane Ian in Southwest Florida. We had just received our new Mosaic 51 camera, so the timing was perfect for this project. See the interactive map below. Although this project was not published to Google Street View, we utilized the most current Google Street View imagery to create a very useful before and after feature for our interactive 360 imagery viewer. This project was done in conjunction with The University of Hawaii, the National Disaster Preparedness Center, Auburn University, Notre Dame University, StEER and the National Science Foundation. **Best viewed on desktop**

We’ve collected about 700 miles of 360 imagery (similar to Google Street View) after Ian, including Ft Myers Beach, Pine Island, Sanibel, Captiva and Boca Grande…you can use the map and click on any house or building close the the red lines that indicate where we’ve collected. When you click, it will open the nearest 360 image to that location with the view pointed to that location. The viewer also shows you the most recent Google Image for that location, which makes for an informative “before & after” view of any location we collected for.

We've recently had the privilege of assisting University of Hawaii at Manoa and National Disaster Preparedness Training Center with their ongoing work in the field of studying the effects of natural disasters around the world. By combining our experience doing large scale 360 imagery collections with the Google Maps & Google Street View platforms we've created an innovative 360 imagery viewer project. This project includes a "post event" privately hosted collection of 360 imagery that can be directly compared to the existing "pre-event" Google Street View imagery. There are approx 15,000 privately hosted panoramic images in this collection, from 3 different study areas. Future iterations of this project will include integration of KML data specific to collection areas and the ability for users to easily add new project areas or to edit existing data.

Wanna see some Manatees? Homosassa has them! Check out this aerial image taken earlier this week. You can move the map and zoom in and out...see if you can count them all! Now is the time to swim with the Manatees. While you're there stop by our favorite spots! The Freezer, Riverside Resort (Monkey Island), MacRaes of Homosassa or get some seafood to take home from Shelly's Seafood Homosassa Florida. Hopefully Crumps Landing will be back open soon!

Thanks to National Disaster Preparedness Training Center , Mission Resolve Foundation, IDEA Relief & University of Hawaii at Manoa for supporting and assisting with our recent trip to the Abacos. Collected thousands of 360 panoramic images across Marsh Harbor, Hope Town, Elbow Cay, Treasure Key, Little Harbor & Cherokee. Hurricane Dorain was devastating but the recovery has been amazing! Collected 360 imagery by Car, Boat, Golf Cart & Ferry! The NCTech Imaging iStar Pulsar is truly versatile! Working on a project to use 360 imagery to document recovery from Hurricane Dorian in the Abacos. Collected about 150 miles of imagery across the Abacos - Marsh Harbor, Hope Town, Elbow Cay, Little Harbor, Cherokee and Treasure Key. Amazing recovery progress has been made so far!
