Padic was founded in 1991 by Dick and Patty Haayen as a full service private investigation firm. Initial work was focused on skip tracing and insurance fraud investigation in the greater North Texas area. Three years later, Padic formed its Environmental Research Division, which initially worked for large insurance joint defense groups involved

in oil and gas Super Fund disputes. Padic now works across the country in a wide variety of environmental issues. In 2001 Padic created a Financial Services Division specialized in pre-loan due diligence reports for large international banks. The experience that was gained working for these financial institutions allowed Padic to expand its investigative abilities to cover all 50 states and 8 foreign nations. Dick and Patty’s son, Richard, joined Padic in 2008 and helped establish the newest division of Padic , Process Serving. The Company has the ability to deliver court papers anywhere in the country. Padic employs a full time office staff of five, in addition to multiple surveillance, field investigation and process service contractors. Padic now covers the entire investigative spectrum ranging from pre-employment screening to foreign asset location.

Why are private investigators called "gumshoes"?
Google's AI Overview:
Private investigators are called "gumshoes" because the term originated from the gum-rubber-soled shoes they wore to sneak around quietly and follow suspects without being detected. The term "to gumshoe" became a verb for moving stealthily, and by the early 1900s, "gumshoe" was a slang term for a private detective.
Origin of the shoes: The term comes from shoes with soles made of gum rubber, which were much quieter than traditional leather or wooden-soled shoes.
Spread of the term: The stealthy quality of the gum-soled shoes led to the verb "to gumshoe" meaning to walk quietly or sneak around, a skill essential for detectives.
Evolution to nickname: By 1906, "gumshoe" became a nickname for plainclothes detectives and private investigators who used these shoes for their stealthy work.
Wider application: Initially, the term was applied to anyone who moved stealthily, including thieves, before it became specifically associated with private detectives.

Continuing Education is one of those things that we licensed professionals must deal with occasionally (for P.I.s in Texas it's 18 hours every 2 years or just 12 hours every 2 years if you have 15+ years of experience). Sarah in our office just completed her CE hours with Elite CEU, and she says that it was straightforward and interactive.

Elite CEU is a training school specializing in turn-key virtual training solutions.
