PROJECT UPDATE

I’ve officially completed the fourth rewrite of my play, and I’m taking a moment to sit in that accomplishment. It's now a full 2 act.

This play has been shaped through reflection, listening, anger, love, and a whole lot of truth. Each draft has pushed it closer to what it needs to be—and right now, I’m proud of where it has landed.

The next step is finding the right time and space for another work-in-progress reading, likely in early/mid 2026. No date yet—just intention. I want to do it with care, capacity, and the right people in the room.

A sign-up link for those interested in the next reading (actors and supporters) will be shared in the coming months once timing is clearer on my end.

4 a.m. FRIENDS – AUDITIONS
A new play by Charlene A. Donaghy

Performances: April 17–28, 2026 (incl. April 26 matinee)
Venues: Sky Stage Frederick, ESP Loft (rain location), New Spire Arts

The Show: Marlene Dietrich is quoted as saying, “It’s the friends you can call at 4 a.m. that matter.” Becca, Tammy, and Kim are those kinds of lifelong 4 a.m. Friends with humor and heart the ties that bind. A myriad of iconic moments, people, and fashion from the 1970s to present day propel these friends as they laugh, fight, argue, support, and love through some of life’s most challenging hurdles, growing from their teens to their sixties. You know, just like you might do with your 4 a.m. Friends.

Group auditions in 30-minute sessions starting every half hour. No appt necessary.

WHAT TO PREPARE
• Contemporary monologue (60–90 seconds)
• Cold readings from provided sides
• A brief personal “4 a.m. friendship” moment (song lyric, gesture, memory)
• Headshot & résumé (digital or printed)
• List of conflicts Jan 15–April 28, 2026
REHEARSALS & PAY
• 15–17 rehearsals spread over 3 months
• Stipend provided

CASTING BREAKDOWN SEEKING 3 LEADS – Female-presenting actors
Note: All characters are female presenting and the same age in each scene. Although their demeanor will change in each scene, their overall personalities are:

Becca: loving artist
Tammy: practical business person
Kim: peacekeeping athlete
