Of all things that build a healthy, thick lawn, core aeration and overseeding is the King of alll lawn care practices. We aerate by using a machine that extracts cores of soil all over the the lawn. The cores are left to decompose through irrigation or rainfall, creating a seed bed in the process. We overseed at a rate of 8 to 10 pounds of grass seed per thousand square feet.

Aeration and seeding will fill in thin and bare areas with improved varieties of turf type tall fescue, specially blended for the Washington DC metro area. Fall is the best time to perform this task. We are offering a 5% discount on this service with prepayment this fall.

Grub worms are a major threat to your lawn and landscape. Every year we see thousands of dollars in damage to non-treated lawns.

White Grubs are the larvae of the Japanese Beetle. In June they lay their eggs in the soil and within weeks the white grub emerges and feeds during the warm summer months. Often causing extensive damage, they feed on grass, grass roots, and garden crops. Food seeking predators (such as moles, skunks, crows and blackbirds) often do further damage where grubs are present. Mid summer is the best time to control these insects before they do damage which can cost hundreds of dollars to repair.

We perform this application mid June to mid August. Once watered in through irrigation or rainfall your lawn is protected from these pests for months.
