Then, ten years later, we built a Brand New Foundry. We poured our first heat at our new location in November 2004. Branchfield Casting was now officially open and operating at full production in Galva, IL. We pour a variety of metals, which include carbon steel, stainless steel, high alloy stainless steel, all grades of bronze, several grades of Hastelloy, as well as gray and ductile iron. We pou
r all materials with the exemption of aluminum and titanium. We specialize in making impellers as well as many other pump parts. The types of castings that we are able to produce are almost unlimited. We mold using match plate, cope & drag, and loose patterns. Also, we can pour castings from printed sand mold packages and/or printed sand cores. We are expanding in all areas of 3D printing. We are able to print small, non-complex patterns using our 3D printer. This reduces pattern lead time down to nearly 2-3 days. From handmade cores, no-bake sand molds, to the melt and pour process, all procedures are strategically planned out. Having a certified metallurgist on sight ensures the accuracy and consistency of our quality requirements. Also, we use a brand new, THERMO Scientific, Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES; ARL 3460 Metals Analyzer) that guarantees the quality of each piece of metal that is poured. Although not certified, we are within compliance with the latest ISO standards: 9001:2015. We offer fast and competitive lead times in order to meet our customer’s demand for “HOT” jobs.
