We have finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel, and U.S. 35 will be reopening between State Road 18 and State Road 218 near Galveston today. Not all project progress smoothly, and unfortunately, this one encountered numerous issues. We're thankful to the project team who worked diligently through each hurdle to get us to this point.

🚒❤️ A Special Visit to GVFD! 🇨🇷🇺🇸

While heading back to the station from a run today, our crew had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful group of visitors from La Fortuna, Costa Rica! 🇨🇷 They were spending a few days traveling around the United States and decided to make Galveston one of their stops!

They stopped by the Galveston Volunteer Fire Department for a tour, and we were so happy to welcome them and show them around our station. 🚒

This visit was extra special because Jenny Lee grew up right here in Galveston and now travels the world and serves with Experience Costa Rica! What a small world & what a fun way to connect two communities from opposite sides of the world! 🌎❤️

We loved getting to spend some time with Jenny and her friends and sharing a little piece of Galveston with them during their visit to the United States!

🚒🚜 Grain Bin Rescue Training 🚜🚒

Monday nights training is one we hope we never have to do the real thing, but we will be prepared if the time comes.
