Celebrating 10 Years of Service! 🎉

At our August Staff Meeting, we had the privilege of recognizing Jon Reid for 10 years of service with YK Communications!

As our Central Office Engineer, Jon works behind the scenes to keep the networks, switches, and systems running that power the voice and internet services our customers depend on every day. While not all of us fully understand everything that Jon does, we all know one thing: he helps keep YK running.

A Ganado native with an extensive telecommunications background, Jon brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and dedication to our team. His work plays a critical role in ensuring reliable service for the customers and communities we proudly serve.

Jon, thank you for your commitment to YK Communications, your fellow team members, and the communities we serve. We appreciate everything you do and look forward to many more years ahead.

At YK Communications, our monthly staff meetings are a great opportunity to come together as one team to learn, share updates, and enjoy some time together over lunch.

Last month's meeting was packed with valuable information! 🚍 Bill kicked things off with important back-to-school safety reminders, including tips for sharing the road safely with school buses. Keeping our communities, and especially our kids, safe is something we all take seriously.

💻 Manuel and Joshua also led a discussion on jailbroken and rooted devices, including streaming sticks that can expose users to security risks, open the door to hackers, create network issues, and violate copyright laws. It was a great reminder about the importance of protecting your devices and your personal information.

📊 We also reviewed the results of our 2026 Employee Survey and discussed opportunities to continue building an even stronger workplace for our team.

And of course, no YK staff meeting would be complete without great food! 🌮 We enjoyed delicious chicken quesadillas from Jalapeno's Cuisine and refreshing drinks from HTeaO El Campo, both of whom are new YK customers.

💜 We love supporting the businesses that support us. That's one of the things that makes small communities so special!
