Rancho Cortes/Duffy Vineyards Perched up on a little hill in El Dorado County, Garden Valley, CA, sits a small 23.5 acre ranch with wine grapes, fuji apples, and christmas trees.

We are a family of four, with big hearts and a thirst for opportunity. This is a Rancho Cortes.

It’s been just over one year since we arrived on the divide in Garden Valley. We took over the keys to Rome Valley Vineyards and made it our own Rancho Cortes/Duffy Vineyards. It’s been hard, it’s been fun, we’ve had a lot of little successes and double the amount of failures. But we’ve done A LOT. From removing an insane amount of blackberry and other invasive plants from the vineyard and the apple orchard, to literal tons of cleanup. We’ve learned more of who we are as people and a family, but most of all we took a risk and learned what WE ARE CAPABLE OF AS A FAMILY. So Happy New Year to you and yours. May 2022 be filled with new possibilities, good health, challenges that make you stronger, and love. From us to you. ❤️🦌

There was a brilliant display of color and layers this evening after the snow. I captured so many great images tonight. I’m happy about this. 🦌 We had about 5-7 inches of snow yesterday evening and this morning. ❄️☃️ The snow was so heavy it took out some power lines just down the street. The neighborhood is all on generators and batteries. The house is warm with dry oak. We have ice cream, beer and each other. ☺️🎄And Wi-Fi. 🤷🏻‍♂️ This time between the holidays is a great time to sit, read a book, reflect on the past year, set some new goals, and plan for the next.
