This MOTHER'S DAY, my dear friend and neighbor won't be celebrating at home. Her family house burned down in a tragic fire. Six adults, two babies, two dogs, four rescued kittens miraculously got out last week at 1am as the house was engulfed in flames. Today, the rubble is unrecognizable. Let me tell you about the BEST MOM I know.
She had just finished an advanced nursing course, to care for her aging mother-in-law who recently moved in.
She and her husband just completed a renovation in their home to welcome their three-week-old granddaughter.
She enjoys babysitting for her two-year-old grandson as her daughter and son-in-law are at work.
She made my daughter and I feel like a part of her family.
She went to Florida with me when my dad died, and was my pillar of support.
She flew across the country to Las Vegas to scoop up her childhood friend's kids, and brought them back to New York.
She homeschooled them during the pandemic so her friend could go back to work.
I have endless stories of her incredible compassion. That is why I am reaching out to my community. This Mother's Day let's help her family rebuild their future.
