Thrilled to be helping several entities learn how to use Zoom effectively to facilitate good learning and engagement.
Have you been in any Zoom meetings that went past an hour lately? I struggled through two 3 HOUR Zoom meetings, and decided people need help!
There are several myths about what is and is not good Zoom etiquette, some of which actually make Zooming MUCH worse.
If your group leaders/facilitators/meeting facilitators are struggling with Zoom, I'd be happy to help.
Here are the learning goals I shared with a recent client:
I’ll cover these areas in a session designed to last about an hour, + or -, with time for questions.
1. Basic technical skills/setup requirements for leading a good Zoom training session.
2. Zoom Pro-tips for presenters, including:
- how to ensure your computer setup allows you maximum flexibility and allows you to take advantage of Zoom’s capabilities. (Screen sharing tips/use of additional resources/tools such as polling, whiteboard, and more), use of additional meeting moderators (hosts) if you have a large audience; security tips to avoid Zoom bombing, and more.
- how to engage your audience most effectively. Rules of thumb for engaging presentations, how to instruct your audience on participation both pre Zoom and during your session.
- How to plan for maximum engagement - Zoom tools (and others) that are designed to maximize the learning potential for participants and get them engaged in the learning process; plus a few teaching/learning methodology reminders about how people learn best.
3. A few reminders - such as:
- test and practice before you lead. Don’t ever attempt to use a new tool or resource on Zoom if you haven’t tested it in advance.
- Know what you are teaching toward. What’s your desired outcome? Be sure you check your progress toward this learning goal. Use the polling feature, or engage your group on the chat feature to see if they’ve gained enough understanding to enable them to act on what they’ve learned. Ask questions to ascertain the level of learning you’ve achieved.
- How to start your training. What to say/not say. (EVER!) How to entice learning by starting off right. When you’re finished talking... then what? How to craft a powerful close.
And more...
If I can help, shoot me an email to [email protected], and I'll reply right away. The advantage of training during Covid is you can access great content from anyone, anywhere, with very little time/expense!
I look forward to hearing from you!
