Big News from Plas-Tech Tooling!

We are incredibly honored to announce that Plas-Tech Tooling has been selected as one of only 10 semifinalists nationwide in the U.S. Small Business Administration's Freedom 250 Patriot Pitch Competition! Out of 1,182 small businesses from across the country, we are proud to represent Garner, Iowa and American manufacturing on the national stage.

This recognition reflects the hard work, innovation, and dedication of our entire team, as well as the trust and support of our customers, partners, and community. Being named a semifinalist is an incredible milestone, and we're excited for the opportunity to continue competing for a place in the national finals in Washington, D.C.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. We're proud to show what Iowa manufacturing can do!

As you gather with family and friends, fire up the grill, and enjoy the fireworks, we hope you take a moment to appreciate the freedoms and opportunities that make this country so special.

We were pleased to welcome the Attorney General for a tour of Plas-Tech Tooling!

It was a great opportunity to showcase our precision machining operations and highlight the important role manufacturing plays in our local community. We appreciate the time taken to visit and learn more about what we do every day.

Great visit and conversation at Plas Tech Tooling in Garner, seeing their innovative processes and the value they add to Iowa’s manufacturing economy!

We're heartbroken with the loss of our long-time colleague and friend, Jon Dodd.

Jon was Plas-Tech’s longest-serving employee besides myself, with 29 years of combined full and part-time service. His first involvement with the company was a fundraiser through the Garner football team in 1996, when he was a freshman in high school. Jon and three other players helped me move equipment from my garage to the new building at its current location.

I saw Jon’s potential immediately—his work ethic, his mechanical aptitude, and the fact that he was strong as a bull. He continued working part-time throughout high school and later while attending NIACC for Tool & Die making. He discovered a real passion for creating something unique with both his mind and his hands.

After graduation, Jon became a full-time employee, building injection molds and fixtures. His ability to see the end result before a project was completed allowed his talent to shine. He also became an excellent teacher to new employees because of his passion for the trade.

To say Jon was instrumental in the success of Plas-Tech is a true understatement. I worked alongside him on the floor for countless hours over the years, and we as a Plas-Tech family will be forever in his debt.

Jon’s father, Scott, and his son, Sam, both currently work part-time here—another reflection of what “family” really means at Plas-Tech.

Please keep Megan, Sam, Brad, Chelsea, and the entire Dodd family in your prayers during this difficult time.
