🇺🇸HAPPY 250th BIRTHDAY, AMERICA! 🇺🇸
Two and a half centuries of freedom, community, and neighbor helping neighbor! As our Gastonia and surrounding communities gather to celebrate this historic USA 250 milestone, your crew at Crowders Mountain Fire & Rescue wants to make sure we keep the celebration memorable for all the right reasons.
Whether you’re hiking the trails, hosting a massive backyard BBQ, or gathered with family, let's keep Gaston County safe this weekend!
Here are a few quick tips to ensure a safe Semiquincentennial:
Leave Fireworks to the Pros : The safest way to enjoy the 250th fireworks is to attend a professional community display. If you are using consumer fireworks legal in NC, keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby, and never allow children to handle them—even sparklers can burn hot enough to melt gold!
Grill Mindfully : Keep your grills at least 10 feet away from your home, deck railings, and out from under overhanging branches or porches. Never leave a lit grill unattended.
Watch the Sparks : If you’re enjoying the beautiful Crowders Mountain area, remember that our brush and wooded spaces can dry out quickly. Completely extinguish all campfires and grills—if it’s too hot to touch, it’s too hot to leave!
Stay Hydrated : This July heat is no joke. Drink plenty of water, look out for your pets, and know the signs of heat exhaustion.
Our stations are staffed and ready 24/7/365, but we’d much rather see you waving at a parade than see us in your driveway! Let’s make the USA’s 250th Fourth of July the safest one yet. 🚒
