I had a great Advocacy Training Session for members of the National Association of Postal Supervisors today in Charlotte, NC. The training was geared toward supervisors and postmasters who are wanting to become NAPS Advocates. These attendees were not only from Charlotte, but from other NAPS Branches in North and South Carolina. The idea to have this training was from the President of the Charlotte Branch 183 Michael Belger. He realized that most of branch advocates throughout states of NC and SC were either retired or ready to give up their roles as advocates, therefore new advocates were needed and training was essential for them to be successful as advocates. Charlotte Branch 183 sponsored this training.

October is Advocacy Training Month for the Capitol Atlantic Area and I was privileged and honored to conduct conduct advocacy training for the Area Vice President Troy Griffin. This year it was held in Laurel MD at the Doubletree Hotel and sixty plus attendees and potential new advocates attended for two (2) full days of instruction. Training consisted of the Advocacy 101(basics) and 201 which includes representation, case preparation and role play.

Capitol Atlantic Training Seminars and Dillard Financial Solutions Inc. teams up once again to put on an Educational Retirement EXPO in Washington, DC on last Saturday. NAPS Branch President Marty Wright and the Millie Calloway Br 135 hosted the event for EAS, Craft, and federal employees in Washington DC and Maryland area branches. Mike Fields of Dillard Financial Solutions and myself conducted the EXPO.
