The City of Ga***rd has officially turned down the RFP for a single hauler contract, and left the choice of who picks up your garbage up to the people.

🚨EMERGENCY NOTICE FOR ALL
GA***RD CITY RESIDENTS🚨

Your right to choose your own trash company is under threat.

The City of Ga***rd is currently considering a single-hauler trash RFP that would completely outlaw your right to choose your preferred residential waste service.

Why this matters to you:

•Protect Resident Choice: Ga***rd citizens deserve the freedom to choose their own waste provider based on price, reliability, and customer service, rather than being forced into a government-mandated contract with a national conglomerate.

•Defend Local Small Businesses: Eliminating the open market will actively destroy local, independent, tax-paying businesses like ours. A single-hauler contract effectively outlaws local competition and drives dollars out of the Otsego County economy.

•Prevent Monopoly Price Gouging: While a single-hauler system may claim to offer initial cost savings, historical data shows that once local independent competition is eradicated, national monopolies heavily increase rates on captive citizens at the end of the contract term.

🫵HOW YOU CAN HELP SAVE LOCAL BUSINESS & YOUR CHOICE:

We need a massive turnout at City Hall to show the City Council that Ga***rd values open competition and small business.

📍Where: Ga***rd City Hall, 305 E. Main Street
🙋‍♂️What to do: Show up, stand with us, and speak during the public comment section. Tell the council to reject a corporate monopoly and keep the market open!

We want to give a HUGE thank you to Little Guys Trash Co., on top of donating our trash service for the season, when we needed our dumpster emptied ahead of a busy weekend, they didn’t even hesitate, and showed up minutes after we called! Now that’s service! 👏🏻
