My favorite kind of client text: “New donate pile.” ❤️

Tina and I have worked through her pantry, kitchen and closet—and now she’s sending me pictures of the editing she’s doing on her own.

And I LOVE this.

Because the goal isn’t for me to be the only person who can make your home work.

It’s for you to start looking at your things differently. To recognize what you use, what you love and what you’re ready to let go of.

We have more sessions on the books, and I’m genuinely so excited for her.

Because I know how good she’s going to feel as more and more of her home gets easier to manage.

A client said to me recently,

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the idea of being the wave, not the shore.

Our lives change. They ebb and flow. Our homes should change with us.

Sometimes that means reorganizing. Sometimes it means letting go.

We don’t have to hold onto everything just because it once belonged in our lives.

Be the wave. 🌊

My car is full. Her closet is not. 😂

This is what a really good purge looks like.

This closet had become home to years of pillows, bedding, décor and all of those things that are perfectly good—which can make them incredibly hard to let go of.

But perfectly good isn’t the same thing as useful to you anymore.

We pulled it all out, sorted through it, and made decisions based on the life and home she has now—not what she might need someday.

And look at the space that was hiding underneath all of it.

I think that’s one of the biggest things I help my clients do: allow their homes to change as their lives change.

Things can come into our lives. Things can leave our lives. We don’t have to hold onto everything just because it once had value.

Sometimes making your home work better isn’t about finding a better way to store everything.

Sometimes the Fix is simply letting some of it go.

(And apparently putting it all in my car. 😂)
