After 12 wonderful years, in my Geneva studio, and hundreds of amazing photos, it's time for me to retire. I will be closing the studio at the end of July. This is one of the more difficult decisions that I have had to make, but it's time. I plan to accept my last new restoration projects on June 17th.
Thanks so much for trusting me with your priceless photos and your kind words of encouragement.
Be kind to your photos. They are your memories saved on paper.

A touching portrait of Grandma and her Dad. I love the moustache, not so much the starched collar.

What do you do when your underwater photo gets wet? Have me dry it out for you digitally. Doesn't this have an outer space feel to it?

From a Photo Booth snapshot with Dad, tucked away in your purse, to a restored 8 x 10 print that you love seeing every day. I still remember the joy on her face when I told her that I could fix it. That's why I love what I do. Happy New Year everybody!

How badly can you damage a photo and still restore it? Here's a late 1940s hand tinted wedding portrait. It's stuck to the glass, ripped from the glass, with water damage and mold. And then they broke the glass. Amazingly, the only part not damaged at all is her face.
The most difficult part of fixing this was her arm. What's arm and what's damage? Where are her hands, and what should they look like?
I think she looks spectacular now.

Clients ask me, can you enlarge this photo? The answer is, it depends. How sharp is the original?
A local fire department wanted to take a two inch by four inch 1941 vintage photo of two of their fire trucks and put it on the wall of their office. Eight foot by twelve foot! I spent three days cleaning up the spots and removing some people.
Here's a photo of me holding the original in front of the finished display. Look at the detail in the tiny section at the end.

And here's the other wedding portrait. This had a lot more glass damage and the same fading. Beautiful again.

A beautiful romantic portrait. Unfortunately, this frame was one of two portraits damaged by broken glass. The client didn't realize that the photo had faded until she saw the finished print. She was very pleasantly surprised!

Seeing as how it's Valentine's time, I thought that I would post some romantic photos. A lot of the photos that I work on are couple's portraits or wedding photos. Here's one of each. The wedding photo was stuck to the glass and they wanted the guests removed.

And here's the second Father's Day photo. Someone decided to pull this Polaroid print off the self stick cardboard backing and ended up tearing it in three pieces. Then they stuck one of the pieces back on, but not lined up. I moved the pieces back, made another leg and the rest of the room and floor. This is the end result. She loved it.
