A LITTLE BASELINE TOWING UPGRADE!

If you’ve been around town, you may have noticed something new rolling around! 👀🚨

About a year ago, we started Baseline Towing with our little red truck. It may not have perfectly matched our logo, but that truck helped us get our feet off the ground, start building this business, and serve so many amazing people in our community. ❤️

Now, a year later, we’re thrilled and incredibly thankful to have the opportunity to move up to a new truck! 🙌

Our new black truck fits our logo so much better, and we finally have that cohesive Baseline Towing look we’ve been wanting. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!

A HUGE thank you to Inkfli Printing for hooking us up with the new graphics and helping bring our vision to life! 👏

So keep your eyes peeled around town for the new Baseline Towing truck! 👀🚨 And if you see us out and about, give us a wave! 👋 We’ll be waving back!

We’re so grateful for everyone who has called us, recommended us, shared our posts, or simply supported our small business over the past year. We truly couldn’t do this without our community. ❤️

Here’s to the next chapter of Baseline Towing! 🚨🖤

🚨 PLEASE SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER
First, thank you to everyone who does their part to keep our roadside workers safe. Every time you slow down, move over, and give us room to work, you are helping someone get home safely to their family. ❤️

Just this past week, one of our tow trucks was hit while we were parked with all of our warning lights and beacon activated while actively assisting a disabled traveler. Thankfully, no one was injured.

But we can't tell you how often we see people fly past—not just our tow trucks, but police officers, firefighters, EMS, highway workers, and other roadside workers who are simply trying to do their jobs and make it home safely.

🚨 PLEASE — WHEN YOU SEE THOSE LIGHTS, SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER.
Illinois' Scott's Law, also known as the Move Over Law, requires drivers to proceed with due caution and, when possible and safe, make a full lane change away from an emergency vehicle displaying flashing lights. If you cannot safely move over, slow down, proceed cautiously, and leave a safe distance as you pass. Illinois State Police specifically includes tow trucks among the vehicles protected by the law.

Since January 1, 2026, Illinois law also requires drivers to yield to authorized emergency vehicles displaying flashing lights whether they are stationary or moving, and extends protections to emergency workers and pedestrians involved in an emergency scene.

The penalties are serious:
1st violation: $250–$10,000 fine

2nd or subsequent violation: $750–$10,000 fine

If the violation causes damage to another vehicle: Class A misdemeanor

If it causes injury or death: Class 4 felony

Driver's license suspensions can also apply when a violation causes property damage, injury, or death.

But here's the thing:

We don't want you to move over because you're afraid of a fine.

We want you to move over because there is a person standing on that shoulder.

Someone's dad. Someone's mom. Someone's son or daughter. Someone's spouse. Someone's friend.

They're just trying to do their job and make it home.

So please, when you see those flashing lights:

🚨 SLOW DOWN
🚨 MOVE OVER WHEN IT'S SAFE
🚨 GIVE US ROOM TO WORK

Your few seconds of caution could save a life.

Please share this message with your friends and family. Let's all do our part to make sure every roadside worker gets home safely. ❤️

When the kids are on summer break they're always looking for something to do. Today our youngest is "supervising" some maintenance on our tow trucks.

Keeping the equipment serviced isn't always the fun part of the job but it is one of the most important. Keeping our trucks running smoothly helps us stay reliable when you need us most.

As summer starts winding down, we're grateful for the extra time with our kids and for all of our amazing customers who support our family business. Stay safe, enjoy these last few weeks of summer, and remember we're here whenever you need us!
