Learn more about Local Option Sales Tax.

County staff will host a drop-in educational event at the Murrells Inlet Community Center on September 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will provide information about the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST), which will appear on the November 3 ballot, and allow members of the public to ask questions about the proposal.

Additional educational events will be held throughout Georgetown County over the next several weeks. Information about LOST, including how the tax works and how revenues would be distributed, is also available at gtcountysc.gov/LOST
