🌟 FEATURE FRIDAY! 🌟

This week's spotlight shines on Stacy Lyn from Painting Outside the Lines Studio! 🎨✨

Talk about thinking outside the box... or should we say outside the cutting board! 😍

Stacy took one of our MDF Sublimation Cutting Boards and transformed it into a gorgeous hand-painted work of art! Her creativity proves these cutting boards aren't just for sublimation—they're also perfect for painting, decoupage, decorative finishes, mixed media, and so much more.

💙 Want to create one like Stacy's? Here's exactly how she did it!

🛠️ Supplies

✔️ Basic Shape MDF Cutting Board https://www.diversewoodworking.com/products/basic-shape-board-mdf-cutout-cutting-board-unfinished-for-diy?_pos=1&_psq=cutting+board&_psid=2ba593206&_ss=e
✔️ Sublimation printer & sublimation paper
✔️ Heat-resistant tape
✔️ Heat press
✔️ Acrylic paints
✔️ Paint brushes
✔️ Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane (Clear Semi-Gloss) to seal and protect the finished piece

📝 Stacy's Process

1️⃣ Print your design in mirror image using sublimation ink.

2️⃣ Secure the transfer to the cutting board using heat-resistant tape.

3️⃣ Heat press using:

400°F
70 seconds
Medium pressure

4️⃣ Remove the transfer paper immediately after pressing and allow the board to cool completely.

5️⃣ Use the sublimated image as your guide and hand-paint over it with acrylic paints. Stacy allowed the natural MDF background to remain visible, giving the piece a beautiful rustic appearance.

6️⃣ After the paint is completely dry, seal the project with Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane (Clear Semi-Gloss) to protect the artwork and give it a beautiful semi-gloss finish.

⚠️ Please Note: These MDF cutting boards are intended for decorative use only. They are not food safe and should not be used for food preparation after decorating.
