Spotlight on our April 2026 Dave's Club Random Selections:
A soft, fruit-forward expression of our terroir, this 2023 Merlot is all about approachability and easy elegance. Barrel aged for 10 months in oak, it shows just enough structure and warmth from the wood while keeping its bright, juicy personality front and center.
On the nose, it opens with plush aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, and red currant, layered with subtle hints of vanilla, cocoa, and a touch of toasted oak. There’s a gentle floral lift underneath - think violet and dried rose, that keeps things fresh and inviting.
The palate is smooth and supple, with a lighter-bodied feel than many Merlots, making it especially easy to drink. Juicy red and black fruits lead the way, followed by soft notes of mocha, baking spice, and a whisper of cedar from the oak. Tannins are silky and well-integrated, giving the wine a polished texture without heaviness.
The finish is clean, mellow, and fruit-driven, with just a hint of spice lingering at the end.
A very approachable Merlot - bright, smooth, and effortlessly enjoyable on its own or alongside simple roasted meats or pasta.
