There's a lot you never see.
When you buy a ticket to a show at the Lee County Arts Center, you see the finished product. What you don't see is everything that happened before the show ever opened.
Before an actor walks onstage, there are licenses and scripts to purchase, sets have to be designed, built, painted, and then taken apart so we can start all over again for the next production. There are costumes. Props. Equipment. Supplies. Insurance. Utilities. Building maintenance. Concessions...
And then there are the hundreds of volunteer hours that never appear on a budget at all. Our actors rehearse for months. Directors, crew members and Board members give their evenings and weekends. And, more often than we'd like, they reach into their own pockets to make sure something gets done.
That's what your ticket helps make possible. It isn't simply admission to a show.
It's an investment in having live entertainment right here in Lee County.
And at just $15 a ticket for a play, we think that's a pretty incredible night out.
So buy a play ticket, for yourself or for a gift, because the real gift is arts in our community!
